Purpose of the application
Varkuna Images is used to change image formats and dimensions, create output files and edit metadata.
User responsibilities
Use the app only with images you are authorized to process and copy. Before starting, review:
- Files to process, selection scope and output folder
- File format, quality, dimensions and the no-upscale option
- Metadata-preservation, removal and GPS options
- Title, description, author and copyright fields, and which files the edits apply to
- Options to skip larger outputs and copy skipped originals
Outputs and source files
The app creates new output files in the selected destination folder. Source files are not modified. A numbered name is used when a file name already exists. Removing a file from the queue does not delete the source file.
Keep backups before processing important images. Review per-file results afterward; a failed or skipped file is not a successfully converted output.
Image quality and format differences
Resizing and lossy compression can change image detail. Transparency, color appearance and metadata support can differ between output formats. Check the preview and saved output for your intended use.
The app may reject unsupported files or inputs exceeding processing limits. Changing a file extension does not convert it to a supported image format.
Metadata, location and copyright information
Edit metadata only where you have authority to do so. Writing text into an author or copyright field does not grant ownership of or usage rights to an image.
Check output files before sharing, including when metadata or GPS removal is enabled. Personal information visible in an image is not erased by removing metadata.
Copying skipped originals copies files exactly, including metadata and GPS information. Resizing, format conversion and metadata removal do not apply to this operation.
Cancellation and results
Cancellation may wait for the active native encoder to finish. Outputs completed before cancellation are retained. Cancelling does not undo or delete files already created.
Before restarting, check the output folder and results list. Previously created outputs may cause new numbered files to be generated.
Use restrictions
Do not use the app to use other people’s images without authorization, disclose personal information without permission or misleadingly alter ownership information.
Updates
Features and supported formats may change in new versions. Current usage information and the current terms are published on the Varkuna website.
